Reykjavik Airport, located in Reykjavik City Center, is the Icelandic hub for domestic flights. Scheduled bus rides are operated between Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik domestic airport. The bus ride from KEF to Reykjavik takes about 40 minutes.

Are you travelling within the Schengen Area? 
Passengers travelling within the Schengen Area can do so without presenting a passport at border controls. However, they must carry a valid identity document (ID) to be able to prove their personal identity upon request. Therefore, it is important to carry passports at all times. Please also bear in mind that airlines may request to see your passport before you embark a flight. It is recommended to arrive early when travelling with young children. This way you avoid possible stress and start your journey with a peace of mind and with time to enjoy yourself. Track your flight on your phone if you have checked baggage. This way you can monitor when your luggage can be checked-in.

Pushchairs/strollers are available throughout the terminal, so your youngest travellers shouldn’t have to walk very far. The strollers can be found at various locations throughout the terminal and all passengers are welcome to use them when needed.

Inside the airport's shopping and dining area is a children's castle for our little passengers. There is also a play area in the South Building located near the C gates. Restaurants and a seating area are located in close vicinity.

Prepare for your flight

We are located on the Reykjanes peninsula about 40 kilometers from Reykjavík City Centre. There are some long term and short term parking options outsite the terminal building. Comfort parking is marked P1 and is positioned right outside the departure hall. Standard parking is marked P3 and is our cheapest option and our Premium parking sercvice is our nicest option. You can use short term parking to drop off or pick up a passenger.

Arrival and parking

For a relaxed experience, please arrive at the airport 2.5 to 3 hours before your flight. You can save time by checking in via your airline's website or use one of our self check-In kiosks that are conveniently located in our check-in hall and are available 24/7. You can also use our check-in desks where our friendly staff can assist you with your check-in and luggage.By using the <a href="https://www.bagbee.is/en" target="_blank">BagBee</a> or <a href="https://bagdrop.is/en" target="_blank">BagDrop</a> service, you can check in your luggage before arriving at the airport. This allows you to save time and head straight to security screening once you arrive at the airport.

Check-in

Start by scanning your boarding pass at the automatic gate. If you have liquid or prohibited items in your carry on you can use our designated area to dispose of it before you reach security.Please familiarize yourself with <a href="/security" target="_self">security regulations</a> before your journey.

Duty Free Iceland operates three stores within Keflavík International Airport. Our main categories are: Icelandic and international cosmetics, sweets, tobacco, wine & and spirits. Everything is tax and duty-free.

Keflavík Airport offers a variety of restaurants and bars at tax and duty-free prices. Here are some highlights: Bakað: Pizzas, sandwiches, pastries, and healthy juices,Hjá Höllu: Wood oven pizza restaurant, Jómfrúin: Danish Smørrebrød, Sbarro: Freshly baked pizzas, pasta, and breakfast and many more. Remember to enjoy a meal while waiting for your flight.

Everything at Keflavik Airport is tax and duty-free. Enjoy duty-free shopping and thus making it much more affordable. Save on products like alcohol, cosmetics, and electronics. Some of the shops at KEF offer authentic Icelandic goods, including clothing, skincare products, and handicrafts. These make for memorable souvenirs or gifts. Tax-free shopping

You can see your gate in time for boarding on one of our many flight information screens. There are large screens in our shopping area where you can get information on your flight and your gate. When it is time you will see the number of your gate and when and where to board. Our A and C gates are for flights within the Schengen area whereas D gates are for non-Schengen (flights to USA and UK for example).
