Changes to Currency Exchange Services

Guests at Keflavík Airport (KEF) wishing to exchange currency before departure are advised to do so at the Prosegur Change branch, located in the arrivals hall at the airport.

he Prosegur Change branch, previously located inside the terminal at the shopping and dining area, has now been closed.

Foreign currency can still be withdrawn from ATMs located throughout the terminal, both before and after security screening. Passengers can withdraw U.S. dollars, Canadian dollars, British pounds, euros, Norwegian kroner, and Polish złoty from these ATMs.

These changes align with developments at airports around the world. With increased use of electronic payment methods and declining use of cash, demand for currency at KEF Airport has decreased significantly. The primary transactions conducted at KEF today involve foreign visitors exchanging Icelandic currency before travelling home.

Passengers will continue to have the option to exchange Icelandic currency at the Prosegur Change branch, located in the arrivals hall on the first floor, before proceeding upstairs to security screening. The Prosegur Change branch is clearly signposted, making it easy for departing passengers to find.
