Keflavík Airport to Continue Supporting Ljósanótt Cultural Festival
Keflavík Airport continues to be one of the main sponsors of Ljósanótt in Reykjanesbær and is one of nine sponsors, known as Ljósberar (Light Bearers), supporting this year’s festival. Sveinbjörn Indriðason, CEO of Isavia, signed the sponsorship agreement between Keflavík Airport (KEF) and Reykjanesbær on behalf of KEF at a ceremony held at Hljómahöll.
Ljósanótt will take place from 3–6 September and is one of the largest town festivals in Iceland. The festival brings together local residents, community organizations, artists and businesses through a diverse programme of cultural and family events.
Supporting the Community
KEF is committed to playing an active role in the community on the Reykjanes Peninsula and supporting initiatives that strengthen culture, community life and society. Its support for Ljósanótt is part of this commitment.
Ljósanótt is a good example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. More than 50 companies are supporting the festival this year through financial contributions, services and various forms of collaboration. The support of the local business community plays an important role in making the festival’s extensive and diverse programme possible.
Together with Light in Our Hearts
Ljósanótt brings people of all ages together and gives local residents, community organizations, artists and businesses the opportunity to take part in creating the festival. This sense of togetherness is reflected in the festival’s motto, “Together with Light in Our Hearts.”
This year, there are nine Ljósberar (Light Bearers) supporting Ljósanótt: Landsbankinn, Skólamatur, KEF Keflavík Airport, BUS4U, Blue Car Rental, Nettó, GTS, JeEs arkitektar and Reykjanes Investment.
Keflavík Airport is proud to continue as a Ljósberi (Light Bearer) and contribute to Ljósanótt and the local community on the Reykjanes Peninsula.
