Car park terms and conditions
- You are entering the KEF Parking car park at Keflavík Airport, operated by Isavia ohf., and thereby agree to the following terms.
- Fees apply at KEF Parking unless specifically indicated otherwise. The fee depends on the current tariff at any given time.
- At KEF Parking facilities, automated camera systems are used to record vehicle registration numbers upon entry and exit. Surveillance cameras are also in operation within KEF Parking areas. - Payment is made either through pre-booking or upon departure, through an app, our website, or designated self-service kiosks located in and around the terminal.
- If the fee is not paid within 48 hours after departure, an electronic invoice will be sent with an additional service charge, isk. 1,490. Unpaid invoices will be sent to collections.
- The owner and operator of a vehicle are responsible for complying with the instructions, signage, and rules in force at KEF Parking. The vehicle owner is also responsible for paying any fees incurred in accordance with KEF Parking’s pricing and terms. If the vehicle is used for business purposes, the employer also bears responsibility under these terms.
- If a party is found to have misused the facilities, it will result in a non-payment fee of 50,000 ISK in addition to the fees collected according to the current tariff for actual usage. The owner and registered custodian of the vehicle are liable for this payment according to this clause.
- If a party is found to repeatedly misuse the facilities, KEF Parking reserves the right to deny the party access to the KEF Parking facilities.
- Vehicles at KEF Parking are the sole responsibility of the owner/registered custodian of the vehicle in question. KEF Parking, for instance, is not responsible for damage that may occur to vehicles, their accessories, or other items in or on them, i.a. due to accidents, vandalism or theft that may occur during storage.
- Vehicles may be parked in a designated parking spaces or in accordance with given instructions, markings and/or general traffic rules. Violations of the position may result in fines, non-payment of fees and / or removal of the car at the expense of the operator.
- All thefts are reported to the police.
- It is prohibited to use the long-term and short-term parking spaces P1, P2 or P3 at Keflavík Airport for the delivery or return of rental vehicles.
- In the event that a vehicle in the Kiss & Fly lane is demonstrably delayed due to external circumstances attributable to a third party, no charge shall be levied in respect of the period of such delay, provided always that said circumstances effectively prevented the vehicle from exiting the lane. The Customer shall be obliged to notify KEF Parking in writing of any such occurrence within ten (10) calendar days from the date on which the occurrence took place.
- KEF Parking is solely intended for private and commercial vehicles, registered for 8 or fewer passengers and weigh less than 3,500 kg in total registered weight, unless otherwise stated at the entrance or agreed upon before the vehicle enters the parking area. It is not permitted to enter the KEF Parking area with trailers. Violations will add a 20.000 ISK surcharge every 6 hours.
- In cases where the driver is not the registered holder of the vehicle and/or where the vehicle is owned by a car rental company or a financing company, whether under a short-term or long-term lease, payment for parking cannot be made after exit, cf. Article 5. In such cases, payment must be completed via the mobile application or at designated self-service payment terminals prior to exiting the parking area. If payment is not made before the vehicle exits the parking facility, KEF Parking reserves the right to issue a payment claim to the registered owner or registered holder of the vehicle through their online banking system, together with a service fee in the amount of ISK 1,490.
- Access Restrictions
KEF Parking reserves the right to restrict or prohibit access to its parking facilities by any owner, keeper, or user of a vehicle who: - has overdue and unpaid debts owed to KEF Parking
- has repeatedly breached these Terms and Conditions; or
- has misused the services or otherwise caused disruption to the operation of KEF Parking's parking facilities.
Any access restriction or prohibition may apply to one or more vehicles owned, possessed, controlled, or used by the same individual or legal entity and may include, without limitation, denial of entry through automatic licence plate recognition (ALPR) or other technical access control systems.
If a vehicle is parked within a KEF Parking facility despite being subject to a valid access prohibition, or otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions, KEF Parking reserves the right to have the vehicle removed at the expense of the owner or keeper.
The owner or keeper shall be liable for all costs arising from such action, including, without limitation, towing, storage, debt collection, and any other reasonable administrative expenses.
Where reasonably practicable, KEF Parking will notify the relevant owner, keeper, or user of any decision to restrict or prohibit access and the reasons for such decision before the restriction or prohibition takes effect. Notwithstanding the foregoing, KEF Parking may take immediate action without prior notice where it considers such action necessary to protect its legitimate business interests or the interests of other users.
